Decatur, IL. – This morning, President Biden announced that the United States would ban imports of Russian oil. This comes as the national average for a gallon of gas is now the highest in United States history.
“Too little too late” said Reising. “Banning Russian oil without opening up American energy resources will not lower costs at the pump for Illinoisans. If Biden is serious about supporting hard-working families of this district, then he would unleash our energy capabilities.”
It is reported that President Biden is looking to other countries such as Venezuela, Iran, and Saudi Arabia to fill the void created by the ban on Russian oil. In January of 2021, he revoked the permit for the Keystone Pipeline.
“Our dependence on foreign energy lines the pockets of dictators and enables human rights violations,” said Reising. “All in the name of appeasing the woke progressives of the President’s party who champion extremist energy policies instead of commonsense measures to secure our nation’s energy independence, advance national security, and help families struggling with skyrocketing energy prices.”
Reising is committed to lowering costs and creating economic opportunity for the hard-working communities of the thirteenth district from which he was raised.
