Decatur, IL. – Early voting begins today in Illinois as the results of an internal DCCC poll show Republicans in battleground districts leading Democrats by eight points on the generic ballot.

The polling conducted in April confirms that Illinois’ thirteenth congressional district will be one of the most competitive races in the country. According to Punchbowl News “this is a stunning margin and highlights the incredibly perilous position Democrats find themselves in.”

“Despite the Madigan-Pritzker machine’s attempt to perfectly gerrymander this district for Nikki Budzinski, President Biden’s disastrous handling of the economy and rising crime have made this a competitive race,” said Jesse Reising, candidate for Illinois’ thirteenth congressional district. “The voters of Central and Southern Illinois are sick of the record inflation and surging gas prices, and ready to elect one of their own to get results for them in Washington.”
